HCI Project 2007

HCI 2 is a module at the Computer Science school at the University of Birmingham. The HCI Project 2007 blog is the place where the team will discuss ideas and processes involved in developing a 'useful piece of technology' for our target audience - children <= 11 years old.

Admin: Meeting 1 Summary

As it was the our first meeting we obviously struggled to think of worthwhile project ideas, however we did come up with some areas that might be worth pursuing/researching further. A summary of the main points we came up with:

  1. Healthy eating/living is a current trend, perhaps it would be possible to develop a piece of technology that can assist children to make healthy decisions.
  2. An educational tool that can be used in conjunction with school work.
  3. Perhaps we could target minority groups (as suggested by the article Elliot posted) such as dyslexics, disabled children, blind, deaf etc.
  4. Tool/application should make good use of colour to appeal to children.
