Admin: Meeting 5

The fifth meeting is scheduled for Monday 19th February at 4-5pm (just before HCI). This is because Adele and I will not be available on this Thursday and the team decided against holding a three person meeting.

We're not sure yet if we have to meet with Russell on Wednesday, when I receive more information regarding this, I'll update the blog accordingly. If there is, I will not be present due to my job interview, so Please take detailed notes of what is said and someone please post

By the next meeting we will have the personas written and a detailed description of the four main ideas, so that we can start to eliminate/develop them.

We will also decide the date of the next meeting, probably the following Thursday.

We have now decided on four main ideas:
  1. Sports training tool
  2. Non-intrusive healthy eating/living portable device
  3. The taste bud manipulating tool
  4. The word scanner

Each idea will be described in detail and posted before the next meeting. The team will then use the personas, which they will finish (after deciding on the final format) by the meeting, to initially evaluate the ideas. We will then progress with the project process outlined on the HCI 2 web page. Eventually we will whittle the ideas down to one.

The format of the personas was decided upon:

* Overview:

  1. Name
  2. Age
  3. Weight/Height
  4. Parents
  5. Siblings
  6. Extended family (optional, depends on the character)
  7. House location/home life
  8. Household income
  9. Eating habits
  10. Academic record
  11. Disabilities (optional, obviously depends on the character)
  12. Hobbies

* A day in the life: (as noted on the Microsoft template posted before)

* Goals, fears and aspirations: (as noted on the Microsoft template)

* Computer skills: (as noted on the Microsoft template)

* Market size and influence: (as noted on the Microsoft template)

We decided it was not necessary to declare each point implicitly in the persona description, but hitting all the bases should ensure all the personas have the same information.
